Antique Victorian Double Entwined Serpent Ring – Birmingham 1898
A striking example of Victorian symbolism, this late 19th-century ring features two entwined serpents with OEC diamond-set heads forming a continuous, sinuous design. Serpents symbolising eternity, wisdom, and protection.
Maker “CyBs” is likely attributed to William Henry Coley trading as Coley Brothers, jewellers and goldsmiths based at 119 Vyse Street, Birmingham. They were active under this name from about 1889 through to the 1930s, and their mark appears on a variety of Victorian and Edwardian rings and bands.
