Antique Victorian Turquoise Pavé Dome Ring - Birmingham 1896
A superb late-Victorian turquoise pavé dome ring, crafted in rich 18ct yellow gold and hallmarked for Birmingham, 1896. The ring features a beautifully rounded cluster of vibrant Persian-blue turquoise cabochons, pavé-set to create a smooth, mosaic-like dome. At its centre rests an old-cut diamond, adding a soft, fire-filled sparkle characteristic of 19th-century hand-cut stones. This combination of turquoise and diamond was beloved in the era for its symbolism of protection, fidelity, and enduring affection. The ring’s bold, sculptural presence makes it a standout example of Victorian sentiment and colour.
Condition: Excellent antique condition with age-appropriate wear. Turquoise stones are well-matched in hue with no notable replacements visible. Gold shows gentle patina consistent with its age.
