Edwardian Coral and Pearl Flower Brooch in 18K Gold
Exquisitely crafted, this antique daisy brooch is a delicate celebration of natural form and fine detail. Radiating slightly curved petals evoke the graceful bloom of a daisy, each petal carefully shaped to capture both softness and symmetry. At its heart lies four oval cabochon of angel skin coral, prized for its subtle blush tone, accented by a single seed pearl at the centre — a refined pairing of texture and colour.
The central disc is framed with intricate rope-twist wirework, adding a touch of ornate craftsmanship to this otherwise understated floral form. Made from rich 18ct gold, confirmed by professional XRF testing, the brooch reflects the high standard of antique goldsmithing.
On the reverse, an engraved inscription reads “A.G to M.G”, a poignant personal touch that connects this jewel to its original owners and hints at its sentimental past — perhaps a romantic or familial gift.
Condition: Very good antique condition. The coral and seed pearl are securely set, and the engraving on the reverse is clear and well-preserved. One petal shows slight wear to the gold, which resembles intentional pierced work and integrates naturally with the design. The original C-clasp, pin, and hinge are all in good working order and close securely. Minor surface wear commensurate with age.
