Vintage 9ct Gold Spherical Swivel Photo Locket
A charming vintage photo locket crafted in 9ct gold, fully stamped 375 and bearing the maker’s mark T.G.C, likely to be Thomas Gaunt & Co. of Birmingham. Though designed in the style of late Victorian sentimental jewels, this piece dates to the 1930s–1950s, a period when such timeless keepsakes remained deeply fashionable.
The locket is formed as a polished gold sphere, suspended on a swivel mount with a decorative heart and scroll gallery. It opens smoothly at the hinge to reveal a photo compartment in each half, offering space for two cherished portraits.
Condition: Both the hinge and locking mechanisms are in excellent working order, closing securely as intended. The gold surface has a lovely warm patina, with only a small shallow dent to the underside — discreet enough that it does not affect the beauty or wearability of the piece.
