Vintage Sterling Silver Ingot Pendant – Sheffield 1979, Maker HJ
A classic vintage sterling silver ingot pendant, fully hallmarked and dating to 1979. Rectangular in form with smooth, polished surfaces, this solid ingot bears an impressively large and deeply struck hallmark—an iconic design feature that celebrates the heritage of British silver.
Stamped with a full set of English assay marks including the maker’s mark HJ (most likely attributed to Henry Jenkins or another Sheffield silversmith of the period), the lion passant for sterling silver, the Sheffield crown assay mark, and the date letter for 1979. The boldness and clarity of the hallmarks make this an ideal piece for both wear and collection.
Originally designed as a pendant, it would have been a popular unisex accessory in the late 1970s and early 1980s, symbolising quality, understated style. Today, it remains a versatile piece, perfect worn on a chain or added to a charm collection.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition with only minor surface wear. The hallmarks are particularly crisp and deeply struck.
Note: Pendant only - chain is not included. Let us know if you would like to add the chain.
