Antique Amethyst and Pearl Cluster Conversion Ring in 9K
Rich in antique charm, this captivating cluster ring showcases a vibrant cushion-cut amethyst framed by a halo of creamy seed pearls. The gemstones are set in a closed, foiled-back setting, a construction method commonly found in Georgian and early Victorian jewellery. The ring is mounted to a 9ct rose gold band, which appears to be a later addition—carefully integrated to preserve the character of the original setting while enhancing durability for wear.
The soft lilac hue of the amethyst is complemented by the lustrous pearls, each individually set to form a striking contrast. The oval, slightly domed profile gives this piece a beautiful silhouette on the hand, making it a distinctive and wearable statement of period elegance.
Timeframe: Early 19th century components (Georgian/Victorian era), later band
Condition: Very good antique condition. Minor wear to settings and softening of pearl nacre consistent with age. Amethyst shows light facet wear under magnification. The later 9ct rose gold band is sturdy and suitable for everyday wear.
