Georgian Miniature Portrait Brooch in 18K
A brooch featuring a miniature portrait of a noble lady, hand painted on mother of pearl. The painting is perfectly preserved under rock crystal, and enclosed in 18k yellow gold frame decorated with a lustrous silver-gray seed pearls halo.
She is presumed to be a rendition of Madame Elisabeth of France, sister of King Louis XIV and sister-in-law to Marie Antoinette.
The brooch presents in very good
overall condition with minor wear evident on the crystal surface. All pearls
are secure and in good order.
