A poignant and beautifully preserved Georgian mourning pendant, c.1780–1820, featuring a finely hand-painted portrait miniature of a young sitter. The portrait is executed with great delicacy, showing soft curls framing the face — a hairstyle fashionable for children and adolescents of the late 18th to early 19th century.

Set beneath its original convex glass, the miniature is framed in solid 12k gold, a composition more typical in pieces made outside Britain or those crafted for export. The reverse reveals a glazed compartment, housing a piece of pink cloth — a symbolic detail, often associated with remembrance and once intended to hold or substitute for a personal token such as hairwork.

Condition: Presented in excellent condition with minimal wear. The portrait remains clear and well preserved, and the mount and glass show only the faintest signs of age.
