Antique 18ct Gold Fob with Engraved Citrine Monogram Seal
This exquisite high karat gold fob is a stunning example of Victorian craftsmanship, featuring an intricately carved citrine seal with an elegant monogram. The beautifully cut and polished citrine, showcases a finely detailed intaglio engraving of letter "BTW", likely representing the initials of a distinguished individual or family crest.
The fob's gold framework is a true work of art, adorned with ornate grapevine and leaf motifs, symbolising prosperity and abundance. The textured gold detailing, combined with the rich, warm hue of the citrine, creates a striking contrast, making this piece both visually captivating and historically significant.
Fobs like this were traditionally worn on watch chains, serving both a functional and decorative purpose. It can be worn as a pendant or charm.
Condition: Presented in really good antique condition. There is a small pin hole from wear under the leaves, which can be seen in one of the side profile photos. This is not visible when worn.
Material: 18 - 19.5 K (XRF of gold leaves testing higher karat)
