Antique Pool of Light Locket Pendant with Rock Crystal and Gold Plating
Victorian “Pools of Light” locket, featuring a clear, undrilled rock crystal orb set within a decorative gold-plated mount.. XRF test shows a mix of 76% Copper and 14% gold.
Characteristic of Victorian and early 20th-century jewellery, these luminous orbs were prized for their ethereal glow and optical properties—when held to the light, they refract and invert images passing through them, creating a magical "floating" effect.
The rock crystal is completely undrilled, preserving the integrity of the sphere, and is secured in a finely detailed bezel mount with a warm yellow tone. The setting includes a top loop for suspension from a chain or bracelet.
Condition: Very good antique condition. The crystal sphere is free of chips or cracks, with light surface wear commensurate with age. The setting is intact and retains its lustre.
